In May 2018, WSC brought together eight participants and two co-facilitators from across the country for a Community of Practice (CoP) on Supporting Trans Women in VAW Shelters.
Throughout the two-day meeting in Regina, CoP participants shared their successes, challenges, and lessons learned from the process of equipping their shelters to better support trans women. They also worked together to identify promising practices and useful resources that could be shared with other shelters and transition houses that are working on becoming more inclusive of trans women. WSC has compiled this information into the following resource documents:
