Anuradha Dugal is a passionate advocate with over 25 years of experience championing the rights and safety of women, children, and gender-diverse people fleeing violence. In 2024, she stepped into the role of Executive Director at Women’s Shelters Canada, after nearly two decades of impactful leadership at the Canadian Women’s Foundation, where she helped shape national efforts for gender justice. Her commitment to justice and equity has earned her national recognition—including the King Charles III Coronation Medal, awarded for her outstanding service to Canada.
Deeply rooted in feminist activism, Anuradha serves on the board of Royal LePage Shelter Foundation and as a Director at the Canadian Femicide Observatory for Justice and Accountability, and is an active member of the South Asian Women’s Community Centre of Montreal. She previously led the Conseil des Montréalaises as President, and advised the federal government as a member of the Advisory Council for the Strategy on Gender-Based Violence.
An immigrant who lives and works on the traditional, unceded territory of the Kanien’keha:ka (Mohawk) people, Anuradha brings an unwavering intersectional lens to her advocacy—grounding her work in both lived experience and visionary leadership. She is supported by her partner and three sons – all feminists and activists in their own ways.
