Make a Game Plan
Did you know that there is a connection between major sports events and gender-based violence? Whatever the result of a match, domestic violence regularly increases by up to 33%. For fans, friends, family, and anyone at risk of violence during World Cup 2026, Women’s Shelters Canada is encouraging fans to “make a game plan.”
Refer Her
The Refer Her campaign, promoting the Domestic Violence & Your Workplace training, is a national awareness campaign about domestic violence, how it affects people in the workplace, and what they can do about it. Share it on social media to encourage your friends, family, and colleagues to get involved.
More Than
In 2022, WSC ran the More Than campaign. This national campaign raised awareness about the wide range of services that women’s shelters offer, particularly outreach or remote services that don’t require in-person visits or stays at the shelter.
