Women’s Shelters Canada brings together 16 provincial and territorial shelter organizations and supports the over 600 shelters across the country for women and children fleeing violence. Our work is powered by relationships: with our members, with survivors, and with partners across sectors who share a vision of safety, dignity, and equity for all women, trans, Two-Spirit, and non-binary people, and their children.
Women’s Shelters Canada is the national sectoral voice on intimate partner and gender-based violence in Canada. We connect organizations, co-create knowledge, and advocate for the policies, resources, and relationships that make safety and equity possible.
All of this helps to ensure the women, children, and gender-diverse people who turn to shelters and transition houses in their times of need receive the most effective and compassionate support possible.
