CoP on Economic Empowerment & Financial Literacy

In February 2025, Women’s Shelters Canada launched a new Community of Practice (CoP) focused on supporting VAW shelters and transition houses in strengthening economic empowerment and financial literacy programming for survivors of gender-based violence. This CoP provides 22 shelters from across the country with an opportunity to connect, learn, and grow alongside other shelters engaged in this essential work. Participating shelters will be meeting virtually on a monthly basis until March 2026, and will meet once in-person. They will be working towards specific actions, sharing promising practices, and learning from mentors.
